Organizational learning is an important way to promote the improvement of corporate performance and the company’s long-term strategic advantage.Currently,the project construction still uses cost,quality,and progress as performance evaluation standards.The organizational learning results in the engineering project industry are usually incidental products in the completion of the project process;at the same time,the current status of China’s engineering project industry is still tight.Contract texts,inspection systems,and frequent social communication are all in the entire life cycle of construction projects.Therefore,how to strengthen the project team’s understanding of organizational learning and enhance organizational learning performance through formal and social control mechanisms has become an issue that we urgently need to address.Today,under the “One Belt and One Road” initiative,infrastructure construction represented by high-speed rail,nuclear power and urbanization is still an important means of stimulating China’s economic growth.At the same time,China is also the most successful country in the implementation of large-scale engineering projects.China’s brilliant achievements in the field of engineering do not depend on advanced management techniques and methods,but are closely related to China’s traditional culture.Therefore,this paper takes the construction project as the background,selects the Zhongyong thinking with the most traditional Chinese cultural characteristics,and explores its influence mechanism on the organization control mechanism and organizational learning performance.This paper constructs a theoretical framework for the management and control mechanism and learning performance of the engineering project team organization through the construction of the Zhongyong thinking,adopts questionnaire survey methods,collects relevant sample data of the construction industry,and conducts empirical research on the assumptions of the model.Its main conclusions include:(1)Refined and demonstrated the learning construct contained in the Zhongyong thinking-"good learning";(2)the Zhongyong thinking can promote the engineering project team’s learning performance(whether it is explorative or exploitative learning);(3)control mechanism(bureaucracy control and clan control)play an intermediary or partial intermediary role in the relationship between the Zhongyong thinking and organizational learning performance.The discovery of the "good learning" dimension of the Zhongyong thinking in this article enriches the connotation of the Zhongyong thinking,and has a more systematic and comprehensive interpretation of the Zhongyong thinking.At the same time,we found that the cognitive mode of the Zhongyong thinking has a positive effect on organizational learning performance,as well as the path and process of the impact of the Zhongyong thinking through the dualistic control mechanism on organizational learning performance.The research results provide theoretical guidance for the engineering project team to cultivate team members’ Zhongyong thinking level and use the control mechanism to improve organizational learning performance.
