| This article mainly studies the artistic aesthetic ideology of Liu Kuo-sung,a famous artist in Taiwan.As a artist,Liu Kuo-sung not only created rich works of art,but also held artistic activities including the Fifth Moon Group,and most importantly,he published a great number of art critical articles.Like Lin Fengmian,Liu Haisu,Wu Guanzhong and other artists,Liu Kuo-sung devoted all his life to the road to the Modernization of Chinese Painting,eager to make Chinese art get out of the traditional shackles and walk into modern China.This article has explored Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic aesthetics from four aspects: the formation of Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic style,the view of artistic creation,the view of art education and the aesthetic thought.The first chapter mainly introduces the formation of Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic style.Liu Kuo-sung’s art is not changeless.It is,however,mainly divided into three periods,namely copying(realism),abstract ink painting(freehand brushwork),and freedom(realism and freehand brushwork).Liu Kuo-sung believes that painting could be divided into three periods in terms of expression consciousness: fine brushwork,transformation with freehand brushwork and free expression of abstract ideas.The formation of his artistic style did conform to the three periods of the development of painting expression consciousness.The second chapter mainly introduces Liu Kuo-sung’s view of art.The key to Liu Kuo-sung’s view of art is creation.The first is to criticize the traditional art culture and rebel against the traditional art theory.Then,the creation of art is actually a process of minus and plus,minus the ideologism of traditional painting and the extremity and abstraction of modernity,and after that,plus new painting tools,materials,colors,images,techniques,etc.in the traditional art.Discarding the dross and selecting the essential,eliminating the false and retaining the true simultaneously for the tradition and the modernity is Liu Kuo-sung’s very view of artistic creation.Last,the purpose of hisrebellion against traditional art and promotion of creative art is to establish the new tradition of Chinese painting in the present time,and thus take the road to the Modernization of Chinese Painting.The third chapter mainly introduces Liu Kuo-sung’s thought of art education.Liu Kuo-sung is a painter,and he has also been engaged in art education all his life.Against the weak points of the all-round education which promotes The First Good,Then Difference,the utilitarian education which advocates learning for use,the one-sided education stressing skills at the expense of theory,etc.in modern art education,Liu Kuo-sung put forward the personality education promoting The First Difference,Then Good,the neutralization education with Combination of Chinese and Western Elements,and the aesthetic education to cultivate the esthetic personality.Liu Kuo-sung believes that the real art education should be based on interest,making the pursuit of personality as the training method,so as to cultivate perfect personality.Such art education is not only in accordance with the essential requirements of art education,but also in line with the actual goal of art education,as well as in compliance with the development of art education.He believes that only such art education can bring out truly creative students.The fourth chapter mainly introduces Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic and aesthetic thought.Liu Kuo-sung’s artistic and aesthetic thought is mainly embodied in three parts,namely the beauty of art,the spirit of art and the philosophy of art.Liu Kuo-sung thinks that the true beauty of art should be abstract,pure and free.The artistic spirit of neutralization,innovation and humanism is embodied in Liu Kuo-sung’s works of art and his view of art.He thinks that the most valuable part of Chinese traditional painting is the national art philosophy,the Confucian neutralization thought of harmony between man and nature,the thought of Zen’s the quiescence in the motion,the pole movement in the static and Taoist life and growth in nature.The great success of Liu Kuo-sung’s art lies in inheriting and developing the Chinese philosophy of art. |
