The landscape painting is a significant part in the realm of the Chinese traditional painting , and Sung Dynasty's landscape painting then occupied the extremely important position in the whole history of Chinese landscape painting, is not only because of its painting achievement, but also because it combined the composition tightly with its social culture and the philosophy contents, reflecting to express in the composition is the same.The aesthetic conception of Sung Dynasty's landscape painting is very special, it not only inherited five dynasty's style, but also carried on the development and innovation. As the political and cultural center of north Sung is in the north, painters also lived and created actively at north, and it would be easy to express the northern landscape by using the panorama and vertical scroll composition. After the Jing-Kang turmoil , the political center moved toward south, the social upheaval also changed the landscape painting composition from panorama composition which aimed for emphasizing the high mountain peak to a nook and half side type which emphasizing part of the scene, a form of painting also changed from the vertical scroll to the horizontal scroll, with which could better expressing Chiang-Nan amplitude of beautiful prospects. At the same time, the short scroll paintings and fan paintings were also much more than before. They used to take part of the scene and use special compositions and be rich with the poetry.For the composition which is the main factor of the form, it is along with essential changes of contents. The Sung Dynasty'spaintings(especially the landscape paintings) can obtain such a huge achievement, are all because of the social culture of that time, which is also called SENSE. Chinese Painting pays attention to the combination of rational and irrational sense, the painters of Sung Dynasty regarded the rational mode of thinking as principle in cognizing the attitude, but also pursued the development and innovation. Thus became an important character on the whole landscape painting history.
