Junior high school students are at the critical stage of learning English grammar.Learning grammar of junior high school well will undoubtedly lay a good foundation for their in-depth grammar learning stage of high school.The author conducts this action research on the phenomenon of Class One,Grade Seven in a junior high school in Changchun,which shows that students have weak ability of learning English grammar autonomously.The author explores how to apply “Flipped Classroom” to junior high school English grammar teaching to find out students’ changes in English grammar autonomous learning ability after the action research.This research mainly uses three methods: questionnaire method,interview method and action research method.The two rounds of action research can be both divided into four steps: planning,implementation,observation,and reflection.In the planning phase,the author identifies key and difficult teaching points through pre-class testing,and then prepares micro lesson videos,learning guides and advanced assignments,and designs classroom activities.In the implementation phase,the author lets students go home to study micro lessons before class and complete the learning guide and advanced assignments to understand better.In the observation phase,the author interviews students according to students’ overall performance and try to understand students’ changes in English grammar autonomous learning ability.What’s more,the author accepts students’ opinions and suggestions on “flipped classroom” in order to provide reference for the improvement of later teaching;In the reflection phase,the author integrates the overall situation of students,and reflects on problems existing in pre-class and classroom activities and redesigns the next round of action research.The research finds out that “Flipped Classroom” can improve Junior high school students’ English grammar autonomous learning ability to a certain extent,which mainly reflects in the improvements of three aspects: autonomous psychology,autonomous abilities and autonomous behaviors while learning English grammar.Teachers should pay attention to students’ self-learning results before class while applying the “Flipped Classroom” teaching model in junior high school English grammar teaching,especially the completion of advanced work and learning guides;Teachers should design colorful activities,and should choose topics closing to students’ real life as themes and pay attention to students’ expressions while using grammar knowledge;In addition,teachers should also pay attention to both students’ self-assessment and mutual assessment,enhance the awareness of self-construction,continue reflecting and adjusting teaching actions constantly according to real situations to let every student involved in learning activities.
