The Investigation And Study Of Islamic Music Of Hui Nationality In Hulun Buir

Hui is a special nationality that all the people believe in Islam,which makes Hui culture and Islamic culture necessarily inseparable.Since music is a part of culture,undoubtedly Hui music has intensive connections with Islamic music.The Hulunbuir region has a high concentration of minority people,of which the Hui occupy a big proportion.This thesis takes the Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region as the research object.Field work of different periods was done to investigate the Islamic music of Hui in that region.In combination with the relevant interview of local imam,the study tries to explore the Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunuir region focusing on the idea of “Culture in music” and “Music in culture” from the perspective of ethnomusicology and anthropology.It gives an illustration of Hui’s religious music and cultural matters in the Hulunbuir region based on the transformation of identity between “insiders” and “outsiders”.The thesis also records the development path of Hui’s spread into the Hulunbuir region and characteristics of Islamic music culture of Hui in the region.As the carrier of Hui’s religious rites in the Hulunbuir region,Islamic music embodies not only Islamic music of Hui in the region but also the characteristics of Islamic music as a whole.The thesis consists of three parts,which includes introduction,body part and conclusion.In the introduction part,current situations of Hui and Islam and also the Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region are taken as the research background of the study.Besides,an overview of previous scholars’ researches on Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region,research significance and relevant research methods of the study are introduced.The body part includes three chapters.The first chapter makes a brief summary of Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region.The second chapter emphatically introduces the investigation of Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region.The third chapter is the illustration and outlook of Islamic music culture of Hui in the Hulunbuir region.After a series of investigation and analyses,the conclusion summarizes the characteristics of Islamic music of Hui in the Hulunbuir region and tease out the development tendency of Hui’s religious music in that region,and thus expresses the author’s personal expectation.
