Abstract/Summary:
Located in the heart of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,the Tibet Autonomous Region is known as “the third pole of the earth” with its high-altitude terrain,cold climate and fragile ecological environment.Since ancient times,Tibetans have been living here and produced their own unique civilization,and Tibetan Buddhism is a very important part of it.What exactly causes Buddhism to take root in a region where Tibet is less geographically superior,develop it into a unique Tibetan Buddhism and carry it forward? What is the relationship between Tibetan Buddhism and the geographical environment in Tibet? Taking this as an entry point,the article selects the unique geographical unit of Tibet as a case study,and uses Lefebvre’s “Space Three-dimensional Dialectics” as a research method,from the perspective of the interaction between Tibetan Buddhism and the geographical environment in Tibet to interpret the relationship between Tibetan Buddhism and the geographical environment in Tibet on the basis of the deeply analysis of the Tibetan geographical environment and its history,as well as the process of Tibetan Buddhism’s emergence and development in Tibet,in order to illustrate the geographical view of “ tian-ren-he-yi” in the world of Tibetan Buddhism.The paper mainly includes the following five parts:Chapter I: Introduction.On the basis of earnestly reviewing the domestic and foreign research studies,the paper decides to use Lefebvre’s “Space Three-Dimensional Dialectics” as its research method to explore the relationship between Tibetan Buddhism and the geographical environment in Tibet from the perspective of the interaction between religion and geographical environment.Chapter II: Space Practice and Tibetan Buddhism.By expounding the specific characteristics of Tibet’s geographical environment,we will discuss the geographical factors that Tibetan Buddhism can produce in Tibet.Chapter III: Tibet’s geography under the spatial representation.Firstly,it expoundes the concept of Madhyamika of Tibetan Buddhism.Then,taking Lhasa as an example,through the analysis of the urban spatial layout and socio-economic development status of Lhasa,we discusses the impact of Madhyamika on the geographical environment in Tibet.Chapter IV: Space Reproduction-A geographical view of “ tian-ren-he-yi”.Based on a systematic analysis of the interaction between Tibetan Buddhism and the geographical environment of Tibet,the paper expounds the geographical view of “ tian-ren-he-yi”,and then elaborates the spatial representation of “ tian-ren-he-yi” in Tibet.Finally,the paper elaborates the higher realm of “ tian-ren-he-yi” in Tibet by Madhyamika.Chapter V: Conclusion.Firstly,the paper summarizes the main conclusions of the paper,and then points out the deficiencies and the future research prospects of the paper.
