Sensory And Schema:the Role Of "Eyes" In Self-Portrait

With the image information at every level of social communication,academic circles pay more and more attention to the research of the problem of "image turning",and the study of visual culture has gradually become an important method for painting research.Since the 1980 s,the study of visual culture has also entered the horizon of Chinese scholars.The core issue of visual culture research is “visuality,” which is to study the various links in the birth,acceptance,and dissemination of different visual products,the visual relationship between people's viewing and being seen,and the cultural and social reasons behind this visual relationship.,political connotation and economic mechanism.All this is based on the visual sense of the "eye".Further we notice that the eyes have physiological functions,aesthetic patterns,and cultural styles.People tend to ignore the fact that in the process of watching,understanding,and describing the external world,the eyes often look at themselves in depth and form a very different style of self-portraits.Moreover,in the self-portrait,the above three levels are integrated.This paper intends to analyze the different roles of "eyes" in self-portraits to discuss the roles of eyes in the self-portraits,interactive functions,and the generation of cultural meanings.First of all,in the self-portrait,the "eye" has multiple roles,so subtle and complex changes occur in its function and cultural significance.The self-portraits and the visual data in the painting process have become the exact basis for the research work.Based on the self-portrait image system,it is the first theoretical task of this article to develop a retrospective knowledge archeology of the history of "eyes",to change the role of "eyes" in artistic creation,and to explain the context of its cultural connotation.Secondly,self-portraits with imagery as the creative mechanism allow the “eyes” to realize self-viewing.They also visualize the results of “eyes” self-viewing in front of the world and generate cultural significance in the dissemination.This is the second theoretical task of this article along the lines of the “eyes” in the self-portrait,in-depth discussion of the issue of the cultural meaning generation mechanism behind the visual pattern of self-portraits and the role of the eye in the formation of cultural patterns.Finally,because the eye is both a visual sense,an object to be observed and depicted,it is also a symbolic carrier for the generation of cultural meaning.This is particularly prominent in the self-portraits,thus demonstrating multiple roles and cultural connotations.Based on the research of visual culture,this paper longitudinally combs the veins of self-portraits and studies the functional features of "eyes" in the development of self-portraits.Combining the text and image information related to the "eyes" in the related studies of various self-portraits.Analyze the visual sense organ's function of constructing the eye pattern in the self-portrait and the eye pattern in the cultural sense of the visual sense of discipline,and the interaction between the visual sense and the eye pattern in the self-portrait.
