Hu Hong is a famous thinker,educator,scienceologist and historian during the Sounthern and Northern Song Dynasty.Huang Wang Da Ji is a chronicle of Hu Hong's later years about history,and represents the highest achievement in history of Hu Hong.This book imitates the layout method of Shao Yong's Huang Ji Jing Shi Shu,and uses Zhou Yi to explore the changes of social history.This book talk from Pan Gu to the Zhou Nan king,broad enlistment and narrate minutely,and is an invaluable reference for the study of the pre-Qin period's history.However,such a monumental historiography that contains a wide records,and have very high valuable in collation and addendums,nobody cares,so it's very regretful.This article from the perspective of philology,divided into three parts to analyze Hu Hong and Huang Wang Da Ji:The first part begins with Hu Hong's life and family background,and uses time as a clue to sort out the Hu family within the examination range.Extensively collecting relevant records in local chronicles,offical history and other literature materials,strive to have a comprehensive review of Hu Hong's life and family history,thus can see the family's influence on Hu Hong's scholarship.The second part from the background of this book,circulation of versions and collation to sorts out content of Hu Wang Da Ji,and emphasize on the latter two aspects.By arranging the edition of Huang Wang Da Ji to emphasize the value of this book in ancient society.The content collation focuses on the historcial theroy,listing a variety of texts and make doubts on difficult to decline texts.The last part summarizes the value of the Huang Wang Da Ji,and elaborates on its characteristics,values and deficiencies.Finally came to the conclusion:Huang Wang Da Ji have great value in terms of style,compilation and collation,and should give enough attention by later scholars.
