Huang Biyun was one of the most important novelists in the 1990s in Hongkong. With a very personal characteristic of writing style, integrating the gentle in the violent, her concerns on the fate of women, the colonial and post colonial in the third world, and Hong Kong, as well as the society, are all a review on the inherent ideas by her.She was born in the early 1960s, and grew up in the gradual establishment period of "Nativism" in Hong Kong. When she began to be engaged in the creation of novels, she met with the signing of the "Sino British negotiations Joint Declaration" and Hong Kong began to enter a regression period of "countdown". Therefore, Huang Biyun’s Hongkong stories are more a reflection of the mentality change and living conditions of the Hongkong society and Hongkong people around the year 1997.But at the same time, Huang Biyun also integrated her own traveling experience into her novel creation, watching Hong Kong against the description of foreign lands, seeking answers and ways for the Hong Kong community. Under her pen, there is not only Hong Kong’s story, but the story of drift and of exotic places, beyond the limitations of gender, race, and borders. It can be seen that the novel creation of "Hongkong" occupies a very important position in the creation of Huang Biyun’s novels. Therefore, this paper is to take the "Hong Kong consciousness" as the breakthrough point, making a comprehensive discussion of the compiled and published novels of Huang Biyun. It analyses the works of Huang Biyun combining theoretical analysis and close reading of the text, with totally three parts as "the story of Hong Kong", "exotic perspective" and "the desire of homeland", seeking to understand the special mentality of Hong Kong as a colonial city with a contradictional identity.
