Jue Qing(1917-1962)was a writer of the puppet regime of Manchukuo.He was criticized by his later generations for his special status of “official writer” and his public opinions on public occasions.He has long been neglected in Academia.This paper attempts to break through dichotomy in the study of Jue Qing,surpass the “progress” and “reactionary” and go into the historical scene.Through the investigation of Jue Qing’s growth trajectory and process of creation to explore the “intellectual maze” woven by his language and writing and to discover the multiple divisions in his thoughts and texts.Then it has a more objective and in-depth understanding of the growth,survive and creation of writers in the colonial context.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chaper is based onis based on historical materials and the self-describing words of Jue Qing.It will investgate his growth,life and creation in the puppet regime of Manchukuo.It will alao explain his procss of creation.The second chapter mainly analyzes the theme of Jue Qing’s novels by using the method of close reading.It will explain the expression of the individual’s existential dilemma from the aspects of "being thrown ","sacrilege" and "mental rebirth".The third chapter is based on the Narratology.It will discuss the narrative art of his novels from the perspectives of narrative style,narrative perspective and imagery narrative.The fourth chapter investigates the relationship between his creation and self identity.
