With the rapid development of information,people tend to choose information in a “fast food”way.Posters are one of the traditional forms of advertising.They are publicity materials that can be widely printed.However,the traditional form of posters is two-dimensional.In the era of information explosion,there are many limitations,which are slightly inferior to other dynamic advertisements that are influenced by new media,new materials,and other factors,and they cannot even accurately convey the meaning of the topic.Nowadays,a single visual image cannot satisfy the aesthetic and psychological needs of the general public.Traditional placards rely on one sense—vision,to convey information that is thin,feeble,and non-existent.Then,break the barriers,graphic poster through effective stimulate human body senses—touching,hearing,smelling,tasting,and other forms of performance,more effective and stimulate directly for human body.Therefore,this is a tentative breakthrough and especially important for the development of today’s poster design.Based on the current social environment,this article first analyzes the significance of multi-sensory performance in poster design.The classification of posters,public welfare posters and commercial posters,was taken as the starting point of the analysis.Secondly,it was analyzed how multi-sensory is expressed in the design of posters as a medium for applying multi-sensory performance—application of materials.Analyze the auditory,tactile,olfactory,and taste refinements separately.Third,explore the methods of multi-sensory representation in stereo poster design to make the information conveyed more accurate,complete,and vivid.This makes the artwork artistic and has scientific support as well.Finally,based on the theoretical support of design psychology,cognitive psychology,and other knowledge areas,itsummarizes the sentiments conveyed by poster design and points out the emotional impact of experience and cognitive rules on multi-sensory performance.Multi-sensory performance is a new breakthrough in the design of posters,and it is an inevitable result of the development of science and technology and the times.Under the influence of multi-sensory performance,it provides a wider vision and space for the design of posters.It is hoped that through multi-sensory research,designers will pay more attention to considering the relationship from the emotional level to the audience and shorten the distance between design work and audience.Through research and exploration,it explores new ways of artistic expression and theoretical support for the field of poster design.
