A Study On The Relationship Between Autistic Traits And Life Satisfaction In Adolescents

Autism is a concept expanded by the study of autistic pedigree.As a personality trait,autistic traits are common in the crowd.The behavior patterns of the high group of autistic traits and the behavior patterns of the autistic group showed similar characteristics but different degrees of characters.Therefore,the researches of autism can provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis,treatment and intervention of autism.The emotional regulation strategy refers to the specific way to adjust and manage emotion in themselves when the individuals have an emotional instability.The inappropriate emotional regulation strategies can have a negative effect on the physical and mental development for individuals.Life satisfaction of individuals is one of the criteria to measure subjective well-being and a symbol of happiness in individual life.The improvement of life satisfaction can have a positive effect on body and mind of individuals In order to fully understand the relationship between adolescent autistic traits and life satisfaction,and explore the role of emotion regulation in it,the study of this paper as follows.In this study,Teenagers aged between 16 and 24 from Wuhu and Fuyang,Anhui were required to act as subjects,and Autistic trait questionnaires including 1000 life satisfaction questionnaires and 1000 the life satisfaction questionnaires were distributed.After investigation,930 effective questionnaires were collected,and effect return ratio is 93%.Further data analysis found that the autistic traits scores of female were significantly lower than those of men;the scores of verbal communication and imagination in senior high school students were significantly higher than those of the undergraduates in the autism trait questionnaire;the score of female in expression inhibition was significantly lower than that of male;The score of the male in the reassessment was significantly lower than that of the female;the life satisfaction score of male life satisfaction was significantly lower than that of women.Correlational studies between autistic traits and emotional adjustment strategies and life satisfaction showed that the score of autistic traits was negatively correlated with the score of cognitive revaluation in the emotional adjustment strategy,it was positively correlated with the score of expression inhibition dimension in emotional expression strategy.Autistic trait scores was significantly negatively correlated with the life satisfaction.There was a significant positive correlation between the score of life satisfaction?the score of cognitive reassessment and the score of expression of inhibition strategies.The cognitive reassessment plays a part of the mediated role in the relationship between autistic traits and life satisfaction;the expression inhibition plays a part of the mediated role in the relationship between autistic traits and life satisfaction.These findings suggest that autistic traits has a positive correlation with the life satisfaction,while it plays a mediated role in the individual's emotional regulation strategy.Therefore,we should pay more attention to the high autistic trait score group in psychological health education of adolescences,and help them make more use of adaptive emotion regulation strategies to regulate their emotions for improving their life satisfaction.
