Emotion regulation is the process in order to attain aims and promote their development for people to regulate their emotions in all kinds of way. The emotion regulation types are the tactics and measures individual used to regulate emotions when facing positive or negative emotion. Emotion regulation types include intentional and unintentional regulation measures. Emotion regulations play an important role in keeping people's mental health. Over the past more than twenty years, the real diagnosis research gradually increased in this field. Based on a great quantity of literature summary and opened questionnaire, the study constructed a university Student Emotion Regulation Questionnaire. It was used to measure emotion regulation types in university and acquire the data of emotion regulation types. And we also conducted a related study between emotion regulation types and life satisfaction using the questionnaire. The results suggested:(1) When facing positive emotion, the emotion regulations types, according to the university students using frequency from much to few, are: emotion share, emotion expression, the emotion maintenance; encourage; emotion restrain; sublimation; While negative: cognitive revaluation; give vent to emotion; constrain; relaxation; experience of pain and shifting attention to other things.(2) Share and emotion expression are the major types in the regulation of positive emotion; while cognitive revaluation and giving vent to emotion are the major types in the regulation of negative emotion.(3) There are significant specialty, grade and sex differences in the emotion regulation types of university students.(4) There was a positive co relational dependence between life satisfaction and emotion share, encourage, emotion restrain, emotion maintenance, emotion expression, attention shifts, cognitive revaluation; while sublimation; give vent to emotion, constrain, experience of pain and life satisfaction has a negative co relational ependence. (5) Among those types, encourage, give vent to emotion, constrain and experience of pain each has significant predictive effect on life satisfaction. |
