On April 9,1939,Mr.Cheng Lien-shih,manager of Federal Reserve Bank Tientsin and newly appointed Superintendent of Customs was assassinated in the Grand Theatre in the British Concession。Starting from this,Britain and Japan began negotiations on the extradition of the four suspects.Through inspections,we can see that, with the development of the world situation on the eve of World War Ⅱ,Japan’s pursuit of establishing a "new order in East Asia" has a direct conflict with the interests of Britain and the United States in China. The British-Japanese Tokyo negotiations undoubtedly provide an optimal case analysis for the game between the two orders. The aggressiveness of Japan, the arguments of Britain, and the actions of the parties involved in China and the United States all reflect the predicament and survival of all countries in the context of the times. |
