Chapter 12 of the book Power Generation of Renewable Energy is selected as the object of the study,which mainly introduces renewable energy generators and control with totally 15689 English words.According to the text features of high professionalism,the schema theory is adopted as the guide theory of translation.From two aspects of source text comprehension and target text expression,the key points,difficulties as well as related translation strategy and methods are analyzed.And finally,the understanding of translation practice and translator qualities is expounded.The main body of the report is divided into four parts.Firstly,it introduces the background and the significance of the report.Then the translation process is described,including the source text analysis,translation tools preparation as well as theory study,and time schedule of translation implementation and proofreading.Under the guidance of schema theory,the third part focuses on the importance of terminology unification at language schema level,the difficulty of source text understanding and relevant solutions at content schema level as well as the stylistic characteristics and coping strategies at formal schema level;in order to conform to the formal schemata of the target readers,the translator follows the domestication strategy,translates nominal construction,passive voice and long sentences with the methods of conversion,inversion and division;besides,methods of figure processing that follow the schema theory are also described.And the last part is the reflection and summary of the whole translation process,which would give guidance to future translation practice for the translator.
