A Study On The Religious Spirit Of He Lin In The Perspective Of Modernity

In He Lin's cultural philosophy,religious thought plays an important role.Through the study of Western culture,he believes that religion has extraordinary value in Western culture.The most important reason is the influence of religious spirit,especially the cultural values in religious spirit.Therefore,he is committed to integrating and absorbing the essence and strengths of Western culture,crushing the bound personality and rigid and decadent part of Confucian culture,and realizing the"New development of Confucianism".He Lin takes Western Christianity as an example and believes that religious spirit includes religious ideas,religious beliefs,religious needs,and religious emotions.The key point of studying he Lin's religious spirit in the domain of modernity lies in the need to fully grasp the concept of modernity,his definition of religious spirit,and the inextricably linked relationship between the two,that is,how to better understand he Lin's religious spirit under the concept of modernity.Since the renaissance movement,Western scholars have held different opinions on the definition of modernity.On the other hand,with the development of modern China,domestic scholars have also put forward their own views on the definition of modernity.Based on the definition and understanding of modernity by scholars at home and abroad,we can think that modernity is a common feature of modem people and modern society,including the thinking mode of the separation of heaven and man,the idea of continuous progress and rationalization.To reinterpret He Lin's religious spirit under the characteristics of modernity,we can better understand and grasp He Lin's religious spirit thoughts.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,there are four chapters in the text.In the first chapter,I expound on the definition of modernity and religious spirit,and put forward the theoretical premise that he should grasp before studying the religious spirit of he Lin in the view of modernity.The second chapter is the key chapter of this thesis.I comprehensively examine the specific manifestation of religious spirit under the basic characteristics of modernity,and put forward that He Lin's religious spirit is full of modern characteristics.In the third chapter,I return to the original intention of the study,focusing on the influence of He Lin's religious spirit with modernity on traditional Confucianism in China,and discuss the relationship between modem rites and Confucianism.The fourth chapter focuses on the relationship between the values of religious spirit and moderm science,democracy and industrialization.Through the study of this topic,we can better understand the religious thoughts in He Lin's cultural philosophy.Regardless of the cultural achievements of both Chinese and Western times,He Lin has accepted and absorbed with an open and inclusive attitude.Its thought also has a certain forward-looking,which has a reference significance for how we better understand the Western religious spirit at present,and for the coexistence and development of Chinese and Western cultures today.
