As the first women college of undergraduate level in China,Ginling College is of great historical importance both at home and abroad.This report,based on the translation of Ginling College history,aims to discover the key issues and difficulties and their causes,and then put forward corresponding solutions.In the translation process of relevant materials,the author finds the difficulties mainly lie in lexical,syntactic and textual aspects,namely the translation of "culture-loaded words",proper nouns and polysemous words,translation of long sentences and translation of historical text.After analysis of the causes of these difficulties,the author proposes corresponding solutions.In terms of lexical difficulties,the author presents the principle of back-translation,utilization of assistant tools and the principle of context.As for long sentences,the author considers as typical and effective ways following the original syntactic order,restructuring and changing phrases to clauses.Additionally,as a result of the particularity of historical text,the author thinks it is important to master sufficient historical knowledge and translate in a neutral way.Different from traditional C-E translation projects of college and university history,the translation project of Ginling College history has its own uniqueness and novelty,so the author looks forward to making some contributions to the research on E-C translation of college and university history in the future.
