Study On The Construction And Communication Of City Image By Folklore Culture

With the fast development of China’s economy and urbanization,how to construct a city image is a solution for the managers of the city to break through in a fierce competition between many cities in China.However,as a result of accelerated urbanization and modernization,folk culture has been gradually neglected.As one of the cultural capitals of the city,folklore culture has seen the accumulation of cities in historical development and modern construction,reflecting the local features,the spirit of the city,and historical details.Folk culture has its own local characteristics and is most easily discerned.Therefore,building a city image should be combined with folk culture.The construction of a city,to a certain extent,should be adapted to the traditional culture so that it can be developed in a relative and synchronized manner in the city.Since the ancient times,Foshan has said that it is "Going through Tongji Bridge will be lucky".It means when January 16th of the Lunar calendar,someone goes through the Tongji Bridge which will be lucky and healthy in the coming year.This folk event has more than 300 years history.The once-year event in Foshan has even received the attention of provincial and national media.After years of development,"Tongji" has gradually been packaged into a distinctive cultural brand in Foshan,which has built and shaped Foshan’s urban image,strengthened the construction of a harmonious society and spiritual civilization,and enhanced Foshan ’s foreign cultural exchange and dissemination.This article focuses on the analysis of the relationship between the current folk culture and the city’s image.By taking Foshan City as an example,analyze the ways in which the government departments and media of Foshan build the image of the city and what it means to achieve through "passing through the economy".The image of the city shows the significance of constructing an urban image through "going through economic development",and at the same time points out the insufficiency in the process of shaping the image of the city and the inspirations and suggestions for the "construction of the city" to construct the urban image and build the city behind it.The city image and how to protect local folk culture provide some references.
