A Practice Report On The C-E Whispering Interpreting Of A Visit To Siping Battle Museum

This is a whispering interpreting report based on the author's experience of accompanying a foreigner to visit Siping Battle Museum.With a comprehensive and detailed analysis,the difficulties the author met in the process of interpreting are summarized and the related solutions are suggested.In this report,the first part is an overall description of the interpreting task,which generalizes the background,features and requirements of task.The second part describes the interpreting process,including preparation,on-site interpreting process and after-interpreting assessment.The third part elaborates the problems which the author encountered in the process,involving information loss,misinterpreting and fragmented sentences.And combined with the typical examples,causes for the problems are analyzed.According to the related interpreting theories and techniques,the author puts forward the solutions against the problems,such as short-term memory training,figure exercise,paraphrasing,omission,deverbalization and so on.Through the problems analysis and improvement proposals,it is hoped that this report will bring some illuminations to those who will be involved in similar interpreting tasks.
