Context Of Region-research

Some residents of Chiang Mai were migrated from Xishuangbanna during the period of Lanna Thai,and there were frequent exchanges between them and Yunnan people.Although we may accidentally fall into the quagmire of absolutism from the regional perspective,we can’t ignore the fact that there exactly is the convenience for artistic dissemination and communication in close regions.As the common display type in the exhibition space of Chiang Mai and Kunming,contemporary paintings displayed in the exhibition have different styles of works because they come from different countries,and the operators of different education backgrounds make the decision on exhibition.However,part of works displayed in two regions where the humanities,territories and climates are similar have similarities in the painting context of the same region.Started from the regional context,this article summarizes the development status of art space in two regions,selects the Yuan Xiaocen Art Museum of Kunming,TCG Nordica Gallery and Maiiam Contemporary Art Museum of Chiang Mai area,Chiang Mai University Art Center to systematically sort out the contemporary painting exhibition from 2007 to 2017,compares the similarities and differences in the form of expression of the contemporary painting exhibition and works of four art spaces by taking the painting exhibition form and image comparison as the main research method to explore that the territories and humanities of the four exhibition spaces in the two places have greater impact on the context of artistic works.There are not only various similar types of art exhibition in recent years,but also the trend that the exchanges and cooperation with foreign art project are strengthened locally.
