As one of the three biggest religions,Buddhism has a wide range of believersin the world.After the deathof the Sakyamuni,Buddhist art as a vivid expression of propaganda,successfullyentered the stage of history.How did the"Saddharmapundarika Sutra"come into Gaochang?Why does the illustrationof'Saddharmapundarika Sutra" appear in Gaochang?Where did it come from?How does the it represent the central idea of the "Saddharmapundarika Sutra"?What are the peculiarity of the"Saddharmapundarika Sutra" in the Bezeklik?These are the main issues to be explored in this article.Gaochangis a important point on the northern line of the Silk Road.The complexity of the local ethnic composition and the two-way influence of the Central Plains and Tubo culture,make the wall painting of Bezeklik unique.In order to prove that the theme of illustration is selected from the Central Plains,but the artistic expressions from Western Regions,and at the same time,they absorb a large number of elements of Tibetan Buddhism,I choose the Cave 51 ofthe Bezeklik to do analysis.This study is based on the portrayal of characters and painting language.It focuses on field investigations and also combines the history of the ancient Western Regions,Gaochang and the Central Plains.The mural paint analysis data will be helpful too.According to the deeply analyze of the Cave 51 ofthe Bezeklik,explain the interpretation of the painting.Compare the specialty of the the illustration of"Saddharmapundarika Sutra" from Gaochang to Dunhuang.Make suggestions to how to better understand theSutra illustration,how to study Buddhist scriptures and protection of Buddhist art.
