The winding rod unearthed in the Chu Tombs is a spindle-like varnished wooden utensil.According to the existing archaeological data,the age of the winding rod appeared in the late Spring and Autumn,mainly in the Chu tombs in Hubei and Hunan,and was found in a few Han tombs.This article takes the winding rod found in the Chu Tombs as the main research object,and compares and analyzes the winding tools unearthed in other areas by archaeology.It has been related to literature and academic circles and has been discussed on the basis of unearthing the winding rod.This paper mainly collects the data of the winding rods unearthed from the Chu tombs and other areas.Firstly,it analyzes the archaeological typology according to its shape system,and then combs the spatial and temporal distribution of the winding rod.The tombs of different levels are categorized according to the scale of the tombs,the guanguo system,and the funerary objects.And the possible use methods are discussed based on the coexistence of the uncovered positions of the winding rods and other artifacts.There are three main aspects:Textile tools,injection equipment.Combining image data,portrait brick(stone)and other image data to infer its use and specific methods of use.In addition,a special discussion is made on the metal spring-shaped.device that is partially mounted on the winding rod.The discussion of the main purpose of the winding rod and the use of situational communication will help restore one aspect of Chu's social life and the concept of social hierarchy in Chu during the pre-Qin period.Through sorting and analysis,it can be seen that the winding rods are mostly excavated from the tombs of the nobles to higher ranks.The most common type of use should be as a collector for raking activities,and metal springs are mainly used to facilitate accurate hitting and limit the role of birds.
