The Study Of Polvtonal Zheng And Piano Work Chant Of Autumn Mountains

After several structural improvement,the ancient Chinese musical instrument-Zheng was finally fixed as our familiar form of S163-21 in the 1960 s.Due to its characteristics of pentatonic string,Zheng is chiefly used in performing pentatonic traditional music.Until 1990 s,a group of contemporary composers engaged into the creation of Guzheng music.They applied western writing techniques and made great contributions of the innovation and development of playing techniques,mode and tonality.However,the pentatonic string limited the creation of Guzheng music.In 2006,Professor Limeng of Central Conservatory of Music Beijing and Shanghai Folk Instrument Factory jointly developed polytonal stringed Guzheng,which meant that two Guzheng used one resonator and the fifth and seventh string worked together.It indeed solves the transfer problem of Guzheng to some extent.In 2016,Young composer Kong Zhixuan started customizing a work of polytonal Zheng and piano for the author and eventually finished Chant of Autumn Mountains in 2017.In the perspective of structural characteristics and music ontology,the paper intends profoundly explore the work’s styles,languages and writing techniques,which thereby brings about deeper thinking about the reform of Zheng.
