A Practice Report On Reconstruction Of Sentences In Chinese-English Translation Of Nondestructive Testing Of NGC Wind Gear Box From The Perspective Of Semantic Translation

With the accelerating process of globalization and the rapid development of China's economy,global trade contacts and technical exchanges have become more frequent and the demand for mechanical products in domestic and foreign markets has also increased,so the translation of this kind of texts is very important.In view of this,the author takes the Chinese version of Nondestructive Testing of NGC Wind Gear Box as the original text,analyzes the translation problems and discusses the solutions from the perspective of semantic translation in Chinese-English translation practice.The translation of the selected text in the report aims at the conciseness of the language expression,the accuracy of the meaning transmission and the directness of the reading effect.Therefore,on the basis of the Chinese-English translation practice of Nondestructive Testing of NGC Wind Gear Box,the author finds the language of the text is accurate,coherent and highly professional by analyzing the text features.The sentences with complicated logical relations,various modifiers and many no-subject structures cause the difficulties in translation practice.Because of the differences between Chinese and English in sentence structures and expression habits,sentence reconstruction methods are adopted in the report to summarize effective solutions aiming at the three kinds of difficulties mentioned above respectively on the basis of the requirements of the accuracy of semantic translation.The reconstruction methods of sequence translation and reverse translation are adopted to solve the translation problems of the sentences with complicated logical relations;the reconstruction methods of invertion translation and recombination translation are adopted to solve the translation problems of the sentences with various modifiers;the reconstruction methods of transformation translation and pattern-applied translation are adopted to solve the translation problems of the sentences with no-subject structures.The author has improved the ability of information processing,language expression and translation flexibility through the translation practice of the report.And the author hopes the report can provide some reference for solving the translation problems in related fields in the future.
