As a government-led public welfare after-school education institution,the Children's Palace provides primary and middle school students with professional guidance for their after-class life.It is a place to cultivate the hobby and specialty of the students,so as to promote their all-round physical and mental development.As time goes on,the Children's Palace have turned commercialized rather than public welfare,changed into continuation schools instead of after-class activity paradise,and the original intention has gradually drifted away.With the increasing urbanization,more and more migrant workers have flooded into the cities,and their children began to get urban education.The empty after-school life of these children has also attracted the attention of the government and education departments.How to enrich the after-class life of these children and promote their all-round development of both mind and body has become a research topic for the whole society.The Children's Palace of the Community Schools is thus born under this background.The Children's Palace of the Community School is based on the hardware conditions of the urban primary and middle schools,daily management is done by the leaders and teachers of these schools,it is a public welfare activity place to popularize extracurricular knowledge to the primary and middle school students during their after-school time and holidays.,especially to those children from low-income and migrant workers' families.So it is of great significance to enrich the after-school life of the adolescent and ensure the all-round development of students.From 2011,drawing on the experience of the Children's Palace for rural schools in Huantai County,Shandong Province,Chengguan District of Lanzhou City,Gansu Province began to set pilot Children's Palace of Community Schools within this area.After several years of practice,we have accumulated some experience,got some achievements,but there are still some problems.This study,in the perspective of the activity curriculum of the Children's Palace of Community Schools,conducts research on the practice and status of the activity curriculum of Children's Palace of the Community School of School A in Chengguan District.Through the analysis and research of relevant literature materials on after-school education,Children's Palace and activity curriculum,we combine sample questionnaire survey from the students of Grade 3 to 5 and their parents in School A as well as interview result from the managers and tutors of the Children's Palace,thus understand the concept to set activity curriculum in Children's Palace and its practical running situation and find out the problems existing in the practice,meanwhile try to analyze the causes of these problems thus give corresponding countermeasures.This study boldly proposes an administration system for the Children's Palace of Community School,which takes the street as the leading role,the community the starting point and the normal school the carrier.The street and the community provide practice opportunities,enrich the activity curriculum and ensure the teaching hour.The Children's Palace of the Community School is managed under the sound cooperation of the street,the community and the school.The three parties are also responsible for improving the personnel of the activity curriculum and guaranteeingthe funds.We should highlight the features of the street and the community,setcourses with special colors and make the activity curriculum specialized.A diversifiedevaluation method should be used to ensure the curriculum construction and practiceof the Children's Palace.The whole society should make the school the center for thestudents and let them choose the nearer Children's Palace to take part in all kinds ofmeaningful after-school programmes within the community.Immersed in the goodatmosphere,we hope all the children could become qualified successors who love life,with sound development of both mind and body.We hope the activity curriculum of the Children's Palace of the Community School could develop better.
