| The research on the process of writing revision is very few currently.On the one hand,the research in foreign country focuses on the research in the field of English or other languages.On the other hand,in the domestic,there are some researches on the strategy of writing revision by the international students.What’s more,there is so few research on the process of writing revision.Instead,there are so many researches on the process of writing.Therefore,basing on the importance of the writing revision,the research status of overseas students from Indonesia and their study needs,this research aims to investigate and analyze the writing revision of overseas students from Indonesia.The research objects of this study were 19 overseas students from Indonesia in Overseas Education College in Xiamen University.And 11 students were defined as the high-level writers and 8 students were low-level writers by averaging five writing scores in mid-term/final exams,practice,HSK and recommendations from several teachers.The purpose of this paper was to analyze writing revision difference between high-level writers and low-level writers through five research methods including document analysis method,interview,questionnaire survey method,text analysis method and smartpen tracing methodology.According to the overall process of writing revision,I divided it into the type,the language level,the text type and the phases of writing revision.The study shows that:1.Compared to low-level writers,the high-level writers more agree with revision is positive.2.The high-level writers write more and faster.What’s more,they revise more no matter in the narration or argumentation.3.In the type of writing revision,high-level writers use replacement and reordering more,but low-level writers use addition and deletion no matter in the narration or argumentation.4.In the language level of writing revision,high-level writers revise more in characters,words,sentence and paragraph in the narration,but low-level writers revise more in punctuation.On the other hand,in the argumentation,high-level writers revise more in characters,words and paragraph,but low-level writers revise more in punctuation and sentence.5.In the phases of writing revision,the process revision of high-level writers is more than low-level writers,and in the argumentation,the process revision and draft revision of low-level writers is much more.In the end,the relevant writing teaching advice is put forward according to the writing revision of overseas students from Indonesia. |
