Objective:To investigate the relationship among parent-child relationship and school adaptability of.left-behind children,as well as the mediating role of resilience in this relationship.Methods:The Relationship Quality Scale and the School Adaptation Inventory for Junior Students and the Adolescent Mental Resilience Scale were administrated to 1000 students at 5 junior high schools in Hunan Province and 878 questionaires were effective.Results:(1)There are significant differences between left-behind children and non-left-behind children in School attitude dimension of school adaptability,positive cognitive dimension of resilience,and parent-child relationship.(2)The school adaptability of left-behind children has significant differences in age,communication satisfaction with outgoing parents,but no significant difference in the types of parents' going out,while the parent-child relationship is significantly different in age.(3)There is a significant correlation among the parent-child relationship,the resilience and school adaptability.(4)Mother closeness can predict school adaptability positively,while mother conflict and father conflict can predict school adaptability negatively;Resilience can significantly positively predict school adaptability,while the dimensions of goal focus,family support,emotional control and interpersonal assistance can significantly positively predict school adaptability.(5)In the regression analysis of the mediating effect of psychological elasticity on parent-child relationship and school adaptability,we found that goal focus,family support,positive cognition and interpersonal assistance play an intermediary role in parent-child relationship and school adaptability.Conclusion:(1)Compared with non-left-behind children,left-behind children have less dialectical and optimistic views on adversity,and the relationship between left-behind children and their mothers is also not as close as that non-left-behind children.There is no difference in intimacy with the father,but there are more conflicts between non-left-behind children and their parents.(2)The younger left-behind children are better adapted than the older left-behind children's school,and the left-behind children with higher communication satisfaction with outgoing parents are better adapted to their schools.Older left-behind children have more conflict with their parents than younger left-behind children.(3)The greater the conflict with parents,the worse the school adaptability of left-behind children,and the better the school adaptability of left-behind children with higher level of resilience.(4)The parent-child relationship affects the school adaptability of left-behind children by influencing their cognition,behavior,will and interpersonal relationship.
