Modal adverbs are an important and complex class of adverbs,and they are frequently used in modern Chinese.Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji was a colloquial document during Ming and Qing Dynasties.It is rich in corpus and reflects the actual Chinese language in the late modern Chinese.It has a good system and research value.This article takes the modal adverbs in Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji as research objects,conducts an exhaustive search and analysis of description,and reveals the characteristics of mood adverbs in Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter introduces the content,version,and research status of Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji,explains the basis for selection of topics,research significance and research methods,discusses the definition and classification of modal adverbs,and determines the criteria for identifying modal adverbs in this article.The second chapter is the study of the classification of modal adverbs.This chapter divides the 155 modal adverbs in the Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji into six categories:Affirmation,Emphasis on Modal Adverbs,Table Euphemism,Inferential Modal Adverbs,Table Questioning,Anti-Euphemism Modal Adverbs,Table Evaluation Modal Adverbs,and Table Modality Modal Adverbs.Besides,this chapter selects specific modal adverbs for specific analysis and research.It uses a method of combination of synchronic and diachronic to explore its source,development,syntactic functions and son on.At the same time,it is compared with Chinese dialects,such as Mandarin and Wu dialect.In comparison,we explored the persistence of modal adverbs in the dialect of modern Chinese in Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji.The third chapter is a case study of modal adverbs.It mainly explores some "straight" modal adverbs,such as the "straight","straight-headed"," straight-straight","straight-leg" and so on.It sorts out their origins and reveals their relationship and characteristics.The fourth chapter is the co-occurrence study of modal adverbs and related words.It discusses the use of modal adverbs,the co-occurrence of modal adverbs,other adverbs,and mood auxiliaries.What's more,this chapter reveals their co-occurrence patterns.The fifth chapter is a summary,which is mainly to summarize and analyze the characteristics of modal adverbs in Ming Qing Min Ge Shi Diao Ji and to illustrate the deficiencies of this research.
