Study Of Yi Bingshou Script

In fact,the history of calligraphy is made up of the history of famous calligraphers through the ages.By picking out one of the calligrapher in history and carrying on the observation research,we can clearly find the origin of the calligraphy history and the changes,on which this research on Yi Bingshou in Qing Dynasty is based.The first chapter introduces the life and the acquaintance of Yi Bingshou,because his life experience and his peers and teachers have a definite influence on his clerical script.The second chapter illustrates the background of Yi Bingshou and the academic environment at that time.The background of the time determines the scholastic environment.The third chapter analyzes the method of his calligraphy and the concept of copying,and thus obtains Yi Bingshou’s view and attitude towards copying and the method of copying.Chapter four analyzes the creation of Yi Bingshou’s banner,couplet,long axis and other forms,and figures out his ways to deal with them to some extent.The fifth chapter analyzes Yi Bingshou,s clerical script creation of words.By using comparative analysis to compare some single characters in Yi Bingshou’s work respectively with "Ode to Shi Men","Cao Quan’s tablet".In the analysis,the author attempt to draw a conclusion on how Yi Bingshou dealt with his work from the analysis of five aspects:the direction of the line,the length of line,the position of the line,the shape of the line,and the texture of the line.With his extraordinary bravery and outstanding talent,Yi Bingshou made his clerical script to the peak of the Qing Dynasty,which also enlightened the development of calligraphy art for later generations.Clerical scripts of Yi Bingshou were highly spoken and admired by scholars both in the Qing Dynasty and modern society.Contemporary researches on Yi Bingshou are relatively less.Most of them discuss Yi Bingshou’s clerical script style on his academic trend or his neo-confucianism thought at that time.The breakthrough point of this article is relatively new,which can give a subtle enlightenment on contemporary research and study of Yi Bingshou.
