With the continuous development of technology,the modern culture has gradually transferred to the emotionalism forms dominated by visual texts such as images.The"World Image Age" has advanced,and the visual symbols became an important tool for people to understand the world,understand themselves and reconstruct their sights.As a medium for the spread of visual culture,the humanities documentary not only appeals to the audience’s aesthetic sentiment through a visual aesthetic experience,but also is a cultural practice of visual representation for a series of visual symbols.Therefore,people can perceive the great changes in the long history,the joys and sorrows of historical figures in the time from the lens images,so as to enrich own experience,and develop a human life world and meaning world.In this study,it takes the humanistic documentary by Zhou Bing as the subject,to view,interpret and analyze it based on qualitative and quantitative methods,and the visual representation system.The viewing modes between the humanities documentary and the movie are different,so it analyze the visual narrative and subject connotation of Zhou Bing’s humanistic documentary in the viewing way in the Michel visual characterization system.Based on the visual representation axis,this study achieves the perception and understanding by audiences on all visual experiences in scenes,characters,artifacts,and shots of "When the Louvre met the Forbidden City",and to research the Construction of the viewing significance of Zhou Bing’s Humanistic documentary.In the visual gaze of meaning construction,the meaning construction of viewers based on the understanding of visual representation system is interaction between text producers and viewers of the longitudinal axis,which in the behavior of viewing reflects on the signifier and signified symbolic coding and decoding on the horizontal axis.Using "reduction of history" to clarify the truth of the world in the flow and opening of horizons,finally,text producers and viewers tend to horizon fusion in their cultural understandings of ancient and modern as well as home and abroad in the meaning construction.
