The Iconography As A Working Method

The paper attempts to reveal the importance of Walbourg’s Iconology in contemporary artistic creations by means of expounding the Good Neighbor Rule and the Pathosformel Concept in Walbourg’Iconology.Combining the basic working methods of several contemporary painters who are well-known in our times,the author starts the argumentation from the perspective of the study of Method of Image and Media Creation.Although those painters have different ways of observing in their creations,they have built up a complete image system which is closely related to their personal experience and to their own times.The paper will research iconology and iconography,the visibility and invisibility of images,as well as text and image translation in a broader and more general research environment.In this paper,the author tries to clarify the basic idea that in the creation of contemporary art,the artists’ personal narrative tendency and their ordered self-accumulation of experience plays an important role in painting,as language does in writing.Therefore,the interpretative nature of images can not only be used in iconology and iconography,but also has an important influence on the image database before artistic creations.
