| This report is divided into four parts,including the task description,the translation process,case analysis and the summary.The first part mainly introduces Richard M.Perloff and his book The Dynamics of Persuasion.This book introduces the theoretical foundations of persuasion studies,the nature of attitudes,the changes in attitudes and behaviors,and the contexts of persuasive communication,covering different areas such as advertising,marketing,and social media.This translation material is selected from the first chapter.It mainly discusses the change and invariability of persuasion in the new era.The second part explains the process of translation.This book is an academic text.There are many professional terms,and the use of words is normative and impersonal.The author learned professional knowledge of persuasion through professional dictionaries,related books,and academic papers,and searched out related news events and articles to help understand the social events and Internet terms mentioned in the book.The third part is case analysis.Combined with specific examples of translation,the author analyzes difficulties such as technical terms,idioms,rhetorical figures,long sentences and punctuation marks.The fourth part is the translation summary.It is recognized that in order to do a good job in this translation,the author must know about persuasive professional knowledge in advance,pay attention to the use of professional dictionaries,repeatedly modify to ensure the accuracy of translation,as well as understand the social and cultural backgrounds of China and the West to improve the author’s bilingual consciousness. |
