The Study On The Changes Of Marriage Customs In Central Rural Area Under The Perspective Of Ritual Communication (1980-2015)

China has been a state of etiquette since ancient times,the popular wedding customs are even more unique.With the construction of new socialist countryside and the accelerating process of urban-rural integration.The level of urbanization in rural China has been continuously improving,all of which make the breeding environment of the traditional marriage customs increasingly complex.Marriage customs present the development state of complex to simple,traditional to modern,single to multipie.At the same time,the change of marriage customs is like a mirror,reflecting the development of cultural environment,political economy,cultural psychology and other aspects of rural society.Ritual plays an important role in rural society and ritual communication is the most prevalent and important communication mode in rural society.As a medium,ritual carries the communication between people in rural society,which is also an important mean to integrate social order.The author believes ritual is a kind of communication,which is based on James W.Kerry's ritual communication concept and the research results of scholars at home and abroad.This paper takes the central rural area as the research object and use the field investigation from four aspects to study the development and changes of the marriage customs culture of the central rural area over the 30 years.It mainly contains the relationship between marriage customs and ritual communication,changes of marriage customs under ritual communication and the reasons,impacts on rural society induced by these changes,etc.The author finds that a series of changes have taken place in the central rural areas marriage custom,which is influenced by times change,economy,culture,ideas and media technology.These changes play an important role in interpersonal communication,culture heritage and the social order construction.But at the time,the blind comparison,worship and extravagance still exist in the weddings.Therefore,the author expects to promote and the inheritance of excellent culture in the marriage customs,absorb the essence of foreign culture selectively and develop marriagecustom culture with the unique style of the Chinese countryside.It is our duty to advocate a civilized,thrifty and harmonious marriage culture instead of blind comparison.In addition,this paper also hopes that the research on the marriage culture communication can positively promote the construction and development of the new countryside,arouse the attention of academic community,and add to the cultural connotation of ritual communication.
