The Theoretical Study Of Liu Yan’s "Er Yan"

Er Yan is the representative work of Liu Yan,a neo-confucian scholar in southern song dynasty.This book is typical of the neo-confucianists and is also the usual corpus.The book is divided into twelve volumes,and the titles of each volume in turn are,the growth,the heart,the ambition,the practice,the heaven,the humanity,the king’s principle,the official’s principle,the present and the past,the literature,the customs,the vision.The book is well-founded,fair,and unsophisticated,and has been praised by some of the neo-confucianism.The theory of the book can be summarized into three aspects,namely,the thought of neo-confucianism,political thought and literary history.The theory of neo-confucianism includes the theory of nature,the theory of mind and the theory of aspiration.The political thought includes the theory of emperor and minister and the policy theory.The literary history thought includes literature theory and historical theory,and focuses on the problems of the loss of literature and the concept of history.As a theoretical work of the theory of abundant,there are many theoretical contributions to it,such as developing the theory of ambition and practise,enriching the theory of political theory and developing the theory of theory,of course,the book still has the defects that not allowed to ignore,such as,show the neo-confucianism thought disposition theory system is not complete,political thought which thought and theory of bones,historical thought young destiny,emphasizing the wise monarch and the ancient is better than today,and so on.
