The Influence Of Information Matching Strategy On Ethnic Prejudice

Race and ethnic prejudice are related to many serious social issues.Therefore,research on prejudice intervention strategies has always been the focus of social psychologists.In recent years,researchers have raised interest in research on how motivation affects individual judgment and reasoning processes in various fields.Research on ethnic prejudice intervention strategies under the perspective of motivation has also become a new research trend.This study focuses on the phenomenon of generalization of ethnic prejudice and combines the clues of ethnic categories to further explore the intervention strategies of ethnic prejudice under the perspective of motivation.It aims to provide more practical advice on intervention strategies for ethnic prejudice.The ultimate goal is to promote ethnic prejudice interventions to produce better results.At the same time,after discovering that the social distance scales directly compiled by foreign scholars could not measure the actual level of prejudice of participants,this study combined the actual situation in China to compile new topics to measure "social distance".On the basis of the so-called "passive contact" questions,new "active contact" items have been added to measure individual social distances,and results that are consistent with our research hypotheses have been obtained.The experimental results show that there are indeed significant differences between the scores of "active contact" and "passive contact",and when the "passive contact" scores between groups are not significant,the score of"active contact" is still significant.At the same time,this study also found that individuals have two kinds of national categories of clues:physiological clues and social and cultural characteristics.Both of these clues can enable individuals to successfully classify peoples.At the end of the study,physiological cues and socio-cultural cues were added as picture information to the paradigm of ethnic prejudice intervention.The results showed that even if these two clues were presented separately,they could also successfully improve the level of national prejudice.
