| As the “Belt and Road Initiative” is launched,China has increasingly improved its international status among the family of nations.As the largest developing country,China has not only achieved economic take-off but also raised its soft power in culture dramatically.A translator shoulders important responsibility of transmitting Chinese culture.Since the May 4th Movement of 1919,a lot of western works have been introduced into China.The western culture has been developed in China.However,China has seldom transmitted its traditional culture to western countries.For this purpose,the author translates Chinese Folk Kite-making techniques,which has a certain significance and value for spreading Chinese traditional culture.Chinese Folk Kite-making techniques which is edited by Feng Jicai belongs to the information text.During the translation process,there are four kinds of translation problems,such as elliptical complex sentences,existential complex sentences,the complicated relation of compound sentences and the complicated relation of modificatory complex sentences.Aiming at the above four translation questions,the writer adopts the method of reconstruction and summarizes effective methods to solve these problems respectively.With reference to elliptical complex sentences,the writer adopts a method of pronoun reconstruction and attributive reconstruction;With regard to numerous existential complex sentences,the reconstruction of sentence division and phrase division is available;As regards complicated relation of compound sentences,the writer uses sequence reconstruction and amplification reconstruction;As for the complicated relation of complex sentences,the co-translation and transformation reconstruction methods are adopted.According to translation practice,this paper describes four kinds of translationproblems and solutions,hoping to provide some enlightenment for the translation of complex sentences in informative text.This translation practice improves the translator’s skills in information processing and translation flexibility. |
