Gansu province is located in the northwest of China,besides in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the south,the Mongolian Plateau to the north,the Tarim Basin to the west and the Loess Plateau to the east.It is a transport center that can connect each region.The Gansu area is drought and less rain,and the ecological environment is relatively fragile.In order to emphasize the difference in the same area,we choice the rice cultivation in this district.it also can support to research the history of development in area.At present,the academic community lacks a comprehensive review and research on rice cultivation in the historical period in Gansu Province.Hence,it is a meaningful things to exploring the status of rice cultivation in the Gansu area during Qing dynasty to the Republic of China.Based on the historical materials of a large number of documents and archives in the Gansu area,as a author,I have used the historical philology,statistical methods,field investigation methods and graphic applications to present the rice cultivation in the Gansu region during the period from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.The article include five chapters.In chapter one,the main is discuss the natural basic and social backgrounds of rice planting in the Gansu from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.It mainly includes the geographical basis of rice cultivation in Gansu Province,population labor force,land cultivation,and rice planting in the Qing Dynasty.In chapter two,the thesis discusses the water use of rice planting during the period from Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China in the Gansu region,mainly from the Hexi Corridor,the middle of gansu province,the East of Gansu province and the south of Gansu province.In chapter three,the thesis focuses on the content of the article.It mainly discusses the distribution of rice cultivation in the four regions,which include Hexi Corridor,the middle of Gansu province,the East of Gansu province,and the south of Gansu province.It is believed that the rice cultivation in in Gansu is concentrated in flat terrain,fertile soil,and convenient irrigation.Along the banks of the rivers,Hexi Corridor and the south of Gansu province are the most widely distributed areas.The fourth chapter discusses the cultivation and yield of rice during the periodfrom Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China in Gansu Province.Include the methods of cultivation,planting area and yield of rice cultivation.hat the varieties of rice in Gansu are relatively diverse,and the rice cultivation techniques have a certain system.The stability of the social environment affects the planting area and yield of rice.In Chapter five,the article discusses the use of rice in the Gansu region from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.According to the data,the purpose of rice is daily consumption and wine production.
