| With the rapid development of economy cultural convergence seems to be a trend of world development.And translation between Chinese and Western media products has provided an important platform for cultural exchanges,especially short film.Nevertheless,some Chinese short film works are not well-translated,and the short film’s acceptability is limited by its poor translation.Thus the accurate translation of short film has become the most important factor for foreign audiences to understand and appreciate Chinese short film.However,the amount of researches conducted by domestic scholars in this field is small and thus not many guidance theories of short film interpreting are provided for interpreters.The thesis mainly focused on the proper application of translation strategy of short film based on its features from the perspective of Skopostheorie.As we all know translation is an intercultural activity conducted with purpose and the translator is supposed to follow the translating rules of Skopos,fidelity and coherence while translating.As an activity of communication,short film is objected to convey audiences the information and achieve its aim of communication and education.Based on the study of Skopostheorie and the features of short film interpreting,the writer came up with relative translation principles and strategies to solve the problems confronted in the process of translating,which including: using the methods of domesticating translation and foreignizing translation;using the methods of literal translation and free translation;Condensing the text to meet the demands of audience.In the end of the thesis,the writer concluded that further research on the audiences’ requirements and expectations is necessary to promote the efficiency as well as effectiveness of interpreting.Meanwhile,the interpreter should also make full use of other interpreting strategies to provide the audience with a great work. |
