This is a practice report on the translation of US Pacific Victory in World War Two under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,which was put forward by famous linguist Nida.The reason that this book is chosen to be translated lies in the fact that World War ? is an unprecedented disaster for all around the world and whole human society,and it is a lesson of history.The author aims to translate the history of the United States in the war victory into Chinese to help more people interested in World War ? to understand the history.The background and preparation of this translation activity are elaborated in detail.Through the patient and comprehensive preparation before translating,the author has a general direction on the content of translation and the practical report that needs to be completed.On the basis of preparation before translation,the author's main research direction is: the specific application of functional equivalence theory in the process of translation,the problems in translation and the countermeasures.The main research methods of this paper are case analysis,analyzing representative cases and proposing corresponding solutions.These typical problems are also frequently encountered in the translation process,so the purpose of this report is to provide a solution to the problems of translation learners in practice and to really improve their translation level.This practice report reveals the important role of functional equivalence theory in the translation process by analyzing and summarizing the translation process of US Pacific Victory in World War Two,and finds out the specific strategies to deal with these problems.
