| Third-party punishment is the individual as a third-party who have unrelated interests, punish the offenders, even if they need to pay a price. It is one of the forms of altruistic punishment,a more pure punishment, and it is of great importance for the maintenance of social norms and fairness. With the rapid development of science and technology, the relationship between the Internet and our life is getting closer. Many of the activities of people are conducted in cyberspace, which opens up new territories where people punish offenders, and third-party punishment in a cyber environment occurred. In order to explore the impact of anonymity and social responsibility on the third-party punishments when individuals encounter unfair events in the network environment, this study conducted undergraduate and graduate students at Zhengzhou University for experiments and questionnaires.Study 1 used the dictator game paradigm of third-party punishments, and used 60 Zhengzhou University students(29 males and 31 females)as subjects to investigate the impact of anonymity in unjust situations on third-party punishments. The results showed that the main effect of injustice on third-party punishment was significant(F=473.62,p<0.001);the interaction effect of anonymity and injustice on third-party punishment was significant(F = 2.51,p < 0.05).The level of third party punishment under high and low anonymity conditions was not significantly different(F = 0.162,p > 0.05);under the high degree of unfairness, the third party punishment under high anonymity conditions was significantly higher than the low one(F = 4.53,p < 0.05).In the second study, for further research into the third-party penalty of perceived anonymity and social responsibility in the network environment influences,704 Questionnaires of Perception Anonymity,Social Responsibility Questionnaire and Willingness of Forwarding and Commenting Questionnaire for Network Injustice Events were sent to 704 students in Zhengzhou University. The results showed that there was a significant positive correlation between perceived anonymity and willingness of forwarding and commenting of network unfair events(r = 0.08,p < 0.05).Perceived anonymity significantly positively predicted the willingness to forward reviews(β = 0.08,t = 2.08,p < 0.05).Social responsibility adjusted the influence of perceived anonymity on the willingness of forwarding and commenting(β =-0.10,t =-2.54,p < 0.05).The willingness of forwarding and commenting on low social responsibility group increased with the increase of perceived anonymity(simple slope = 0.18,t = 3.28,p < 0.01).In the high social responsibility group, the perceived anonymity of individuals did not predict the willingness of forwarding and commenting(simple slope =-0.02,t =-0.40,p > 0.05).This study draws the following conclusion:(1)In the condition of high injustice, the third party punishment under high anonymity is higher than that under low anonymity, while there is no difference in low injustice condition.(2)Perceived anonymity positively affects the network third-party punishment.(3)Social responsibility adjusts the influence of perceived anonymity on the third-party punishment on the network.Specifically, for individuals with low social responsibility, the higher of perceived network anonymity, the higher of the third-party punishment;and for individuals with a high sense of social responsibility, perceived network anonymity has no effect on third-party punishment. |
