The Impact Of Punish Prices And Social Responsibilities On The Demand Of Third-Party Punishment Under The Unfair Situation

In the field of research on the psychology of social norms,the altruistic punishment plays an important role in the maintenance of the social norms.As the purest altruistic punishment,the third party punishment has been widely and deeply studied.This study selected Tianjin Normal University students as subjects, aimed at understanding the impact of punish prices and social responsibilities on the demand for the Third-party punishment in the unfair situation.By setting different unfair situations and punishment prices, measuring sense of social responsibility and the degree of anger,this study draw the following conclusions:(1)Experiment one found that the degree of unfairness significantly affects the demand for third-party punishment.At every price, the higher the degree of unfairness is, the higher the demand for Third-party follows. Punish prices significantly affects the demand for third-party punishment, the higher the price is, the lower the demand for Third-party punishment follows. The interaction effect of punishment Price and the degree of unfairness is significant. Only at the high level of unfair situation,with the punish prices rising,the demand for Third-party punishment reduced consequently. In the low level of unfair situation,the punish prices doesn’t affect the demand for third-party punishment significantly(2)Experiment two farther found that,under the high level of unfair situation,when facing the different punish prices,the demand for Third-party punishment of the subjects with the higher level of social responsibilities is higher than the subjects with the lower level of social responsibilities. With the punish prices rising,the difference of Third-party punishment between subjects with difference levels of social responsibilities declined. The degree of social responsibility affect the level of anger, significantly.Punish prices affect the level of anger insignificantly. The interaction effect of punishment price and the degree of social responsibility to the level of anger is not significant. At every prices punishment,the level of anger significantly predict the demand for Third-party punishment.
