A Report On The Interpreting Practice Of Trade War�A Battle Among Online Retailers

The report is based on the documentary Trade War�A Battle among Online Retailers,which consists of seven chapters.Origin of E-commerce and Price War are selected as the material for the interpreting practice.During the interpreting practice,under the guidance of Interpretive Theory,the interpreter finds problems,analyzes cases and sums up the coping strategies.The main problems are: a supplement to the missing ingredient,replacement of redundant information,translation of proper nouns and omission of literal language.To solve those problems,the methods used in interpreting are: restructuring and regrouping,omission,liberal translation,literal translation and amplification.The interpreting practice lasts for three months.To ensure the success of interpretation and to guarantee the quality of translation,the interpreter makes a lot of preparation beforehand,thus accumulates valuable experience.Based on all the analysis and comparison,suggestions are given in terms of background information,interpreting skills,and knowledge accumulation.The interpreter gets more familiar with the interpreting process,expands vocabulary in electronic business and obtains the strategies in tackling issues encountered in the practice.The outcomes and views in the paper would give some exposure on the interpretation learning and provide certain research material to the relevant researchers.
