Pottery is one of the most important inventions in human history.C hina has a long history of making and using pottery.Archaeological discoveries prove that C hinese have begun to use pottery at 15000 years ago.The pottery from different district and culture witnessed the development of C hinese civilizatio n.However, because of some internal and external reasons,coarse-sand pottery which is the representative work of ancient pottery had a bad preservation condition. After the excavation of excavated, they could be in a severe environmental mutation until being protected at archaeological site.Fragile coarse-sand pottery site has already had some reliable materials of protection at archeological.Solvent-based reinforcements represented by organic resins can meet the requirements of strength and penetration depth to some extent, but the concrete reinforcement Processes often stay at the level of experience. Many process methods are not targeted enough to face different cases, and they are not scientific enough to meet the needs of on-site protection work.To searching the Influencing factors of reinforcement,Primal AC33,Paraloid B72,peach gum, rabbit skin glue, and polyvinyl acetate and cyclododecane were selected to study on their effect and distribution of reinforcement. This study is mainly divided into two parts. The main contents are as follows:In the first part,Paraloid B72,Primal AC33,rabbit skin glue, peach gum,PVAc and Cyclododecane have been studied as the commonly used materials of reinforcement. They were studied using infrared thermography, reinforcement depth test, mechanical strength test and hydrophobic test to analyze the reinforcing agent. The study is focus on the e ffect of the case type, concentration, ambient temperature on the permeability and mechanical strength reinforcing agent. The results of the test clarified the effect of the concentration and curing temperature on the Priaml AC33 and PVAc.In the second part,FTIR and TGA are used to study the distribution of reinforcemen, and the reliability of the two analytical tools in combination is verified. The severity of the relocation phenomenon in the reinforcement process was evaluated.Comprehensive two-part test results show that the six types of reinforcing materials are suitable for the optimum concentration and dropping method of the fragile pottery at archeological site.Based on the results of trest, the preferable concentration and dripping way for the reinforcement of fragile pottery at archeological site are determined. In addition, the effect of the reinforcement process for the protection of the ancient coarse-sand pottery was tested.
