The soil site is an important part of cultural protection,which belongs to the category of immovable cultural relics.Because the soil has low mechanical strength,it is easy to collapse in the water and finally form mud.The soil sites have been damaged through thousands of years of rain,wind and soluble salt,many soil sites have already disappeared.There are a lot of soil sites in China,but most of them have been artificially or naturally damaged.The ShiMao Site is located in the northwest near Shenmou county in Northern Shaanxi,the North of the site is Inner Mongolia,its East and Shaanxi across the river,Yanan is in the South of it.In 2012,the archaeological team discovered ruins of the east gate of ShiMao City,East Gate site mainly consisted of the barbican,outer city walls,doors,and several other regions,it is extremely magnificent.In part of the region,a large n u mber of jade was excavated,according to archaeological findings,ShiMao site was built in 4300 years ago,which is between the late Longshan culture and the Xia Dynasty ruins.However,due to geographical location,it has a lot of diseases through long-term exposure to the harsh environment at the top of the mountain.In this dissertation,the ShiMao site is the research object.According to the environment and types of diseases,the ShiMao site physicochemical properties were studied in depth analysis system.Suitable reinforcement materials were selected for disease of ShiMao site.The main contents include the following points:1.N ? mbers of literature were inquired,they s u mmarized types of soil sites and representatives,the composition of the soil sites,the common diseases of soil sites,current status of protection research and foreign research on conservation of earthen sites.2.Evaluation of ShiMao site by investigating its surrounding environmental characteristics and climate.3.The physical and chemical properties of the soil samples were tested.Reasons of ShiMao site were explored.4.By analysis of main diseases for the soil sites,the reinforcement effects of ethyl orthosilicate,water glass,Lei Mashi and CB reinforcement materials were compared.Eventually,the best CB reinforcement material was selected via testing soil samples' weight,color changes,mineral composition,compressive strength,water collapse resistance,air permeability,weathering quality and water permeability.It was concluded that CB reinforcement material could improve strength of soil significantly and enhance salt erosion and wind erosion resistance ability,which had good weather ability.In addition,that CB reinforcement material could improve resistance to water erosion of soil-based relics;in the mean time,the breathability of relics was not influenced showing protective effect for soil-based relics.5.CB materials were selected as reinforcement materials,and the reinforcement technology was explored.The sample of reinforcement by new strengthening technology of wrapping method of ShiMao site was performance tested,when the rules of cultural relics were met,than making the local ontology reinforcement.
