Many researchers have done a lot of research on the reinforcement materials of archaeological excavations. But in the humid environment of rotten fragile organic relics reinforcement material protection research is seldom reported. There are some problems such as difficult to cure, material discoloration and poor hydrophobicity in the high humidity environment. Based on the archaeological excavation site commonly used reinforcement material and a new moisture curable polyurethane material into the research group (MCPU) as the research object,using ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer, contact angle tester, universal material testing machine, portable colorimeter and other equipment, B72, AC33, SF-016, polyvinyl butyral(PVB) MCPU, five, 45%, 35% materials in 60%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 95%, 100% and nine humidity under the transmission performance, chroma, hydrophobicity, hardness, mechanical properties test. Through the comparative analysis of the test results, the definition of the critical humidity threshold for each kind of material can be used, and to determine the optimal humidity of different materials can be used to identify the value; reinforcement materials used in high humidity environment, and the high humidity environment of cultural relics protection and reinforcement to the samples, the feasibility research materials used in high humidity environment in. There are two main research contents.The first part: the research on the applicability of the commonly used materials in different humidity environment. For the first time, the B72, AC33, SF-016, PVB, MCPU five kinds of materials can be used to define the threshold humidity, and determine the best value of different materials can be used. To provide the basis for the selection of cultural relics protection materials in different humidity environments.The experimental results show that: (1) MCPU can be used in the whole range of humidity. In different humidity environments, with high transmittance material, color change is very small,not white, strong hydrophobicity, good flexibility and good mechanical strength, can meet the requirements of cultural relic protection and reinforcement materials. (2) the threshold humidity of B72 material is 80%, and the optimum moisture is about 60%. The material cannot be used in a relative humidity value of 80%~100%. (3) the threshold humidity of AC33 is about 75%, and the optimum humidity is about 35%. The white material in humidity for 750%~85%, and poor light, hydrophobic performance is greatly reduced, can not be used.Especially in the humidity of 95%~100%, the material can not be cured. (4) the threshold humidity of SF-016 is about 60%, and the optimum humidity is about 45%. Material can not be cured when the humidity of 95%~100%. In the range of 75%-85%, the material performance is poor. In less than 60% of the environment,the excellent performance of the material. (5) the threshold humidity of PVB is about 60%, and the optimum humidity is about 35%. The material can be used in the humidity range of 35%~60%, with the best performance in 35%. In more than 60% relative humidity, white phenomenon material, can not use.The second part: the application research of MCPU material. In order to study the feasibility of strengthening the protection of fragile organic matter in MCPU environment with relative humidity of about 100%. Experiment with MCPU ethyl acetate solution 10% of the protection and reinforcement of cultural relics in the bamboo’s cotton samples in simulated samples and unearthed 100% moisture in the environment. The experimental results show that the reinforcement of the sample after, don’t change color samples, not white, not reflective, no glare, good mechanical properties. Therefore, the MCPU material can be used in the high temperature environment of archaeological excavation site protection work, it is recommended to promote the use of.
