Study On The Literature Of Mao Ji And His Family In Ming And Qing Dynasty

Mao Ji is an outstanding poet of Shanzuo poetry in Ming Dynasty.During the period from Chenghua to Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty,Mao Ji is one of four famous poets in Jiaodong.After Hongzhi,Li Dongyang and his Chaling School prevailed.Against this backgroud,although Mao Ji wasn’t its member,had close communication with Chaling School,including his poetry and companion.Mao Ji was powerful minister to three emperors,and became cabinet prime minister During Jiajing,which made him have great influence on the poetry.His poetic creation rectified the officialese style and responded Chaling School,driving correction and transformation of poetics atmosphere in Mid Ming Dynasty.Mao Ji is hard working,honest and attach importance to his family’s imperial examinations.His poetry and articles are soft and gentle,close to real life,with true emtion,which has profound influence on his family.There are also some members skillful in literary creation,such as the seventh generation Mao Sixu,the tenth generation Man Wan,the thirteenth generation Mao Shiyu and so on.The studies on Mao Ji and his family put theirattention to historical science and philology point.Study on literary creation of Mao family hasn’t been paid any attention.Although there are some works mentioning Mao Ji’s poetry,neither sufficient,nor referring to his articles,nor his family’s literary creation.Therefore,the study on Mao Ji and his family’s literary creation,not only can fill gaps,but also have the great significance of putting the literary creation of Mao Family,Jiaodong region and Shanzuo region in Ming and Qing Dynasty on full displayThere are four chapters consisting the thesis.Chapter One is about Mao family named Chongru lineage,origin and development.Relying on sufficient literature,most important memebers,lifetime,especially their literary creation will be introduced comprehensively in details.Chapter Two focuses on Mao Ji’s lifetime and literary activities.The thesis devide Mao Ji’s lifetime into four parts,and devide his literary activities into three aspects,integratedly and detailedly.Also,the thesis will introduce his important company and colleagues,such as Yang Tinghe,Shi Bao,Liu Yun,Yang Yiqing and Guo Dongshan.The connection between Mao Ji and Chalin School will also be referrd.Chapter Three is about research of Mao Ji’s literary creation,which is consist of tthree parts.The first part will tease out Mao Ji’s literary anthology and works beyond his anthology.Aofeng Leigao is the chief source.According to subject matter,the second part divide his poery into four categories:landscape and pastoral poetry,farewell poetry,lyric poetry and poetry chanting things or for paintings,with appreciating and analyzing characteristics and unique style respectively.The third part emphasizes on Mao Ji’s articles.The primary content of the chapter four is study on literary creation of other ten members in the Mao Family named Chongru.
