Understanding Financial and Risk Management is the chapter 20 of Business(7th Edition)published by Peking University Press in 2006.This chapter comprehensively and systematically introduces all aspects of financial management and risk management to readers and reviews the wisdom of the discipline of business.In the English-Chinese translation process of Understanding Financial and Risk Management,to make the translation close to the source language and target language in the sense of style and style,the author found that there are a large number of translation skills of word conversion,and these translation skills run through the entire text.The types of word conversion are varied resulting in intricate translation methods.Therefore,the word conversion phenomenon in English-Chinese translation is worth studying.Eugene Nida’s "functional equivalence" theory emphasizes that the source text and translation are functionally equivalent.This report is based on Eugene Nida’s "functional equivalence" theory in the study of word conversion.Through a large number of cases,the phenomena of noun word conversion,verb word conversion,adj ective word conversion,adverb word conversion and preposition word conversion in texts are elaborated,studied,summarized and concluded.lt is embodied in that nouns can be converted into verbs and adjectives;verbs can be converted into nouns;adjectives can be converted into nouns,verbs,and adverbs;adverbs can be converted into nouns and adjectives;prepositions can be converted into nouns and verbs.All in all,the author practiced the guidelines of theory directing practice in the transitional process and detailed study the translation skill of word conversion.This translation report offers a reference for word conversion in English-Chinese business text.
