From the track of the historical development,Wang Yang-ming's theory could be divided into two periods.In the first period,he mainly criticizes Zhu Xi's neo-Confucianism by knowing the innate moral knowledge which could judge the good and evil.In the second period,he set out a culminating way in the Confucianism to accomplish a higher level,which considers the innate moral knowledge as no good and evil.Aiming to Zhu Xi's efforts theory that based on the reflection-discipline,Wang put up with a theory that emphasizes the correcting of consciousness which uses attaching moral conscious as the foundation.It acquires an instinct to judge the good and evil by this attaching moral conscious so that proving the radical motivation and insight of why we should do good things but not evil.The reason lies on Wang refusing to understand Li as a code of conduct which is pre or outside of the present moral conscious,but a natural orderliness that the heart is revealing on the specific circumstance.In this way can deepen the understanding of Mencius' idea that the meaning is inside what you do.If emerging in a series of conscious and conduct which comes from the original moral touching,as the attaching moral conscious black-out,the innate moral knowledge which contains no good and evil becomes possible.The essence of heart and the noumenon of the innate moral knowledge denote an ability of the personality existence and fundamentality as a whole;it could generate consciously and conduct in some certain circumstances and show as well as changing itself,that is to say,the becoming of moral person.Through analyzing the Yi-Fa(already happened)and Wei-Fa(be going to happen),we can see the relations between the essence of heart and certain consciousness,in which the innate moral knowledge shows and becomes itself in the dynamic or static conscious activity.The noumenon of Wei-Fa and the Yi-Fa reveal at the same time and exist in one,rejecting to seek the Wei-Fa besides the Yi-Fa.As the personality existence,the theory that man is an integral part of nature and that the everything is integrity manifesting Wang's existing way of ideal and demonstrating himself in the resolve and realization.Finally,these altogether promote the alter of personality and become the personality itself.In the expounding the principle,Xushan and Longxi claim different approach to become ideal moral personality by various moral consciouses.There is the person becoming by the attaching moral conscious to do the good and ignore the evil along with the person becoming that depends on the original moral conscious to practice.Wang uses noumenon-practice to unify this two approachs,which is also the central intention of the questions and answers in the Yan-Tan,in which the noumenon has no perception but still be scrupulous.After Wang's death,his theory separates.Longxi utilizes the "In an instant" to deepen his practice so that getting the legitimacy of Wang' s theory.However,Shuangjiang and Nianan's idea of "Return to silence" along with Liangfeng and Shiquan's concept that "Understanding the noumenon and cultivating the life" both diverge from Wang,s teaching.That is because they don't really understand the existing of noumenon of the innate knowledge,namely,rejecting that the essence of heart can only reveal and become itself in the specific conscious and actions.
