With people's increasing concerns about international events and high demand for timely dissemination of mass media,TV SI(Simultaneous Interpreting)emerges thus making related researches important and urging SI training system improved.Different from traditional conference SI,TV SI contains such difficulties as timeliness, unpredictability, failure to gain audiences' feedback, and inconsistency between sounds, images, etc.Besides,TV SI requires higher quality in voice and word expressions for interpreters.Guided by Effort Model raised by Gile, the author selects Obama's State of the Union Address in January 2016 as its corpus to propose corresponding strategies according to principles and theories of SI after analyzing common mistakes erred by interpreters.Through intensive and comprehensive analyses, the author tries to solve following questions:What is the principle of TV SI as a young branch? What are the differences between TV SI and traditional one?How do traditional principles apply in exercise of TV SI?And what are strategies of TV SI?Through profound analyses on two versions of TV SI,one from China Central Television, the other from Phoenix Satellite Television, the author discovers that common mistakes in TV SI are mistranslation, pretermission and miscommunication. Finally,in order to sort out those common mistakes, the author comes up with such strategies as segmentation, transmission, addition, omission, waiting and prediction based on SI principles,to support practice in TV SI.In conclusion, this research, integrated field practice with traditional theory, sums up related SI strategies by solving problems in corpus and applies them in practice. The author hopes his research may contribute to the follow-up SI studies.
