Study Of Daijiongsun's Life And Poetry

Dai Jiongsun is a poet of Kunming nationality in Yunnan who was active in the periods of Chia-Ching to Tao-Guang,in the Qing Dynasty.He and Li Yuyang,Dai Chun,Yang Guohan,share the name of Five Talents in Wuhua.Having profound friendship with some important Yunnan's poets like Zhu Huo,Huang Cong and Lu Yinggu,he also keep company with Lin Zexu,Gong Zizhen and He Shaoji who were active in the central plains.Dai Jiongsun's poetry has a high evaluation from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.But due to geographical limitations,the current academic study on Dai Jiongsun has not started.The study on Dai's life,friends,thought and poetry creation is much limited.Therefore,there is a lack of specialized and systematic study based on the author's works.This paper focuses on Dai Jiongsun's life and poetry creation.In the first chapter,the author makes a complete outline for his life throughing the excavation and arrangement of various materials,Dai's works are also introduced in this part.To wear his life situation and made a further inquiry,the second chapter is divided into two aspects of teachers and students and peer friends.In the third chapter,after explaining of Dai's era background,the author explore the basic thought of Dai from his poems and essays.Then the fourth chapter makes a systematic study on Dai's poetry creation from the following aspects:the basic situation,the creative features and the artistic styles.On the basis of the above,the fifth chapter links to the main situation of Yunnan's poetry in Qing Dynasty,and makes an analysis and comment on the status and value of Dai's poetry.Besides,for the convenience of study and reading,this paper also adds the Table of Dai Jiongsun s Generation and the Chronicle Biography of Yunfan in the last appendix.After a comprehensive study of Dai's life and poetry,this article holds that Dai Jiongsun,as a poet of Yunnan Province,on the one hand has its conservative side.On the one hand,being in Beijing for more than twenty years,he has exchanged the skills and ideas about poetry with famous poems of the central plains.His poetry is very valuable in the history and culture of Yunnan.And to some extent,it represents an attempt by Yunnan poets to integrate into the national poetry movement.For the status of Dai,this paper assert that he is one of the most prominent poets among the Second-class poets in Yunnan,and there is a gap between him and other great master like Yang Yiqing.From the perspective of national poetry,because of his limitations,Dai Jiongsun may not be the trailbreaker of modern thought,and he cannot produce more progressive ideas about poetry which beyond the age,like Gong Zizhen and Wei Yuan.Even so,Dai Jiongsun and his poetry,is still a new spring advancing towards the new history in that downfallen era.
